You know the saying: Good things come to those who wait, those who are patient, and for this post, those who love sweet Soca music. Today we feature a mixtape by the very popular DJ Jel. Jel was in the heart of the bacchanal for Trinidad and Tobago's 2024 Carnival celebration. He played music, he mixed vibes, he had loads of fun, and now that he had time to reminisce, he has put together an anthem of joy, unity, and pure bacchanal for this mixtape, titled "2024 Carnival Cool Down (Las Lap) ... there is more, but we shortened the name of the YouTube mixtape post. This mixtape is a Soca extravaganza for fans of the genre. We applaud Jel's work because this is feel-good, and let's remember how good it was, mixtape!

Yes, Trinidad & Tobago is going through a well-earned 'Carnival Tabanca', but that does not mean the pain will endure. This mixtape is filled with songs and music that echoed throughout Trinidad and Tobago for Carnival 2024. Every town and village felt the groove, enabling what can be considered 'a spiritual connection in music and culture—a reminder that Trinidad Carnival and joy know no boundaries. So, as we bid farewell to our fabulous carnival that was, the beats linger, promising more revelry in the years to come (keep the faith that Carnival 2025 is coming!).

This mixtape features some of your favorite Soca singers: Kerwin Du Bois, Kes, Olatunji, Mical Teja, Farmer Nappy, GBM Nutron, Voice, Erphaan Alves, Preedy, Bunji Garlin, Mela Caribe, Nessa Preppy, Nadia Batson, Patrice Roberts, Destra Garcia, and so many others, including the youth favorite, Yung Bredda. You will hear songs that ruled parties like: Energy Killers, Tack Back, Spirit Waist, DNA, Runaway, Penthouse, Market, Anxiety, and so many more. We have the link to the full track list in the "Production Notes" below.

As you listen you will understand that this mixtape by DJ Jel is more than just a compilation of sweet Trinidad Soca; it's a time capsule—a snapshot of euphoria, unity, and the essence of Trinidad's culture, especially Trinidad's Soca. So, as we conclude this post, turn up the volume, reminisce and let loose, and dance like you are the life of the party. If you ask Jel, he will tell you a Trini secret that we will share with you here: In the world of Soca, every beat is an invitation to celebrate life!
