The Desperadoes Steel Orchestra, one of the most celebrated and successful steel bands in Trinidad and Tobago, wowed the judges and the audience with their rendition of Mical Teja’s “DNA” for the preliminary round of judging for Panorama 2024.

The band, led by arranger Carlton “Zanda” Alexander, showcased their musical prowess and versatility by playing the upbeat and catchy soca tune with precision, energy, and flair. The arrangement featured intricate harmonies, dynamic contrasts, creative variations, and a thrilling climax that had the crowd on their feet.

There is no doubt that the fans were pleased with the band's performance last night. However, it will be up to the judging panel to determine if they are good enough to move on to the next round of competition. We wish them well.
