Half Smile Riddim | Spice Mas 2023

By Published May 15, 2023

Grenada's Carnival, often called "Spice Mas", is a vibrant and enchanting celebration of culture, music, and community. It is a time when the island comes alive with rhythmic beats, vibrant costumes, and infectious energy. This music production has all the ingredients necessary to make this festival right. In the spirit of creative expression, the Half Smile Riddim has emerged as a captivating musical experiment with talented artists. It features six of Grenada's favorite artists with songs by Runi Jay, Valene Nedd, Mr. Walkie, Lednek, Myney and Boyzie. Get ready to party hard and feel the vibe that powers Jab mas in Grenada!

We are confident that you will enjoy the songs and should note that this is a Peck Jones production. He did it all, producing, mixing and mastering the riddim. The album features a lively fusion of pulsating drum patterns, melodic basslines, and captivating synths. This creates a musical landscape that beckons the crowd to move and sway. Its energetic tempo and melodic hooks infuse the air with undeniable exuberance, providing the appropriate collection of songs for Grenada Carnival's vibrant celebrations.

Each artist presented songs that relate to all Spice Islanders. The music vibe is key, but what makes each song stand out are the clever lyrics making each presentation unique. Fans of each artist will be pleasantly surprised. Those the music production may also become fans of not just one artist/song but a few on the album. We think you will find your 'musical earworm' on this album/riddim.

We feel confident that as Grenada's Spice proceeds into full party mode this production will emerge as a defining element of this year's festival. It captures the hearts and souls of all who attend the festivities. Its infectious rhythms, vibrant melodies, and meaningful lyrics embody the Grenadian spirit, fostering unity, celebration, and joy. The Half Smile Riddim adds a fresh dimension to Carnival but also serves as a cultural symbol. It celebrates Grenadian musicians' artistic prowess and the vibrant heritage of the Spice Isle.
