First published on Sokah2Soca (www.sokah2soca.com). We bring you the new music while islandvybe radio makes it rock live on air! For this post we bring you news and a classic David Rudder song, Trini To De Bone... Enjoy!

It's that time of year again, and the National Carnival Commission of Trinidad and Tobago (NCCTT) has provided us with the schedule of events for the 2024 Carnival celebration.

Please note that Carnival events for 2024 start in December 2023 with the National Panorama Single Pan Finals and the Small Conventional Bands Semi-Finals at Victoria Square, Port-of-Spain.

Just keep in mind that you will have to contact friends and check online social media sites for the dates of your favorite and upcoming fetes that most people look forward to attending. Check "Eventbrite" (www.eventbrite.com) for available tickets to the most popular fetes!

In addition to the major events listed above, there are many other Carnival-related events happening throughout January and February, such as band launches, fetes, stick-fighting, limbo, and calypso competitions.

Carnival Monday and Tuesday are the two biggest days of Carnival, and they are when the famous street parades take place. Large gatherings of people take to the streets of Port of Spain and other towns and villages across Trinidad and Tobago to celebrate Carnival in Trinidad and Tobago. These celebrations are full of music, dancing, and colorful costumes.

If you are planning to attend Carnival in Trinidad and Tobago, it is important to book your flights and accommodations in advance since Trinidad and Tobago's Carnival is a very popular event.  That popularity could mean a shortage of rooms (if you decide to go last minute) and also the possibility of sold-out costumes if you plan to participate in the parade of the bands. Are we joking? Hell no, take note that DJ/Producer Private Ryan's "Soca Brainwash Trinidad 2024 - The Western Story" is sold out already!

Nadia Batson's latest single, "Market", is a lively and energetic Soca track that will get you moving. The song celebrates Caribbean culture and Batson's Trinidadian heritage, with infectious rhythms and lyrics that are both catchy and meaningful.

The song opens with a driving beat and Batson's powerful vocals, as she sings about the vibrant colors and sounds of the market. She describes the vendors selling their wares, the people dancing and celebrating, and the overall sense of joy and community.

The following quote seals the deal for us when listening to the song: "If yuh looking for sweetness to put inside a basket, I am the whole, de whole, de whole blinkin' market". Fans get the whole package of sweetness and sexiness from one Nadia Batson... and, we like the song too!

"Market" is a refreshing and uplifting song that surely puts you in a good mood. It is a perfect example of Nadia Batson's talent as a songwriter and performer, and it is sure to be a hit with Soca fans everywhere.

Lyrikal's newly released song "Stick On" is a Soca anthem that is sure to get you moving. The song is produced by System32 and features a catchy beat and infectious melody. Lyrikal's vocals are spot-on, and he delivers the lyrics with the passion and vigor for which he is known.

The song is about a man who is completely smitten with a woman, and he wants to be with her all the time. He sings, "I want to stick on, I don't know how to function". As for the music video, the dancer is exceptionally talented, she is a prolific whiner who knows her craft well!

"Stick On" is a fun and upbeat song that is perfect for any occasion. Kudos to System 32 for producing a 'Soca song" and not a Caribbean pop track marketed as Soca; this is the real deal! "Stick On" is sure to get you dancing and singing along. The song has already been well-received by fans, and it is quickly becoming a Soca hit on the party scene. We love it all, well done!

Oh my goodness, fans of Farmer Nappy will be pleased with this addition to "The Paris Riddim". Live, love, and be happy, is "what we feel" when listening to this song. Sokah2Soca crowns "The Paris Riddim" as the vibe for Carnival 2024. Focus on the wine and concentrate on your special person. Everything will eventually fall into place. We have one life to live, so live, love, and be happy!

Farmer Nappy's song "Concentrate" is a catchy and upbeat SOCA tune that will surely get you moving. The song is about focusing on the positive things in life and letting go of the negative. Nappy sings about the importance of surrounding yourself with positive people and enjoying the moment.

The song has a simple but effective message: concentrate on good things, and the rest will take care of itself. This message is especially relevant in today's world, where we are often bombarded with negative news and images. "Concentrate" is a reminder that we have the power to choose our own perspective and focus on the things that make us happy. Nappy's vocals are energetic and engaging, and one that will have you on the dance floor having a damn good time. This song is a reminder that life is full of ups and downs, but it's important to focus on the good things and be grateful for them. Nappy's infectious energy and joy create a contagious, positive atmosphere that will leave you energized and ready to manage any situation in the world.

Overall, "Concentrate" is a positive and uplifting song that's fitting for any occasion. It is a song that will make you feel ecstatic and want to dance. If you are looking for a song to brighten your day, then "Concentrate" is the song for you.
