If you are living abroad, then we have something special for you! While we all find ourselves immersed in the latest Soca music offerings, attending the launch of Panorama 2025, or researching upcoming carnival events, it's important not to overlook our vibrant Christmas music. The true essence of Trinidad's Christmas celebrations lies in Parang, Parang Soca, and, of course, Soca Parang (yes, there is a difference). Today, we are thrilled to present a song, "It's Christmas," which perfectly encapsulates the beauty of Trinidad's Christmas season. Produced by the talented XplicitMevon, the song features vocals by the hilarious Rome and his partner in Soca Parang, Nailah Blackman. You are going to love this song.
Growing up in Trinidad was special for me. The thought of receiving Christmas gifts, the aroma of sweetbread, cassava pone, and homemade bread, along with the addition of sorrel and ginger beer drinks, evoked a plethora of pleasant memories. This song captures the experience of local paranderos traveling from one home to another, indulging in ham and savoring the home's offerings. As mentioned previously, you are going to love this song. It goes without saying, if your memory serves you well, that Christmas back on the island was and can still be a magical experience, especially if you are lucky enough to experience the culture that brought so much joy "back in the day"!
Rome and Nailah and the special music produced by XplicitMevon bring back all those good memories of our delicious cuising, liming in the block, all those festive decorations, every bit of culture experienced going to parang competitions, and most of all the exceptional community spirit we experienced during our youth. Things have changed, and the experience may be different today, but then again, the music is even sweeter today.
Cassell George, Mevon Soodeen, Jerome Precilla, and Nailah Blackman expertly delivered the spirit of Christmas and the message of joy for this season in a song. However, Cassell George's guitar and cuatro work, along with Miguel Homer's expert delivery of the shaken maracas, transported me back to the Arima Velodrome, a time when the parang competition was a highly anticipated event. Yes, this song took me back home, and indeed, as I said before, you are going to love it.
So, to conclude, here are our final thoughts: "It's Christmas" is a captivating and enjoyable song that encapsulates the essence of Trinidad's Christmas celebration, creating an atmosphere that evokes the smell, taste, and experience of the celebration through song. Didn't I tell you that you are going to love this song?

Selectah Blaze debuted this mix on October 9, 2020, but Islandvybe Radio Philly featured it today. It evoked memories, which is why we are sharing it here for our Soca fans. This mix will undoubtedly evoke fond memories and ignite the atmosphere.
Soca music—good Soca music—is about feeling a vibe and enjoying the rhythms and melodies as you immerse yourself in the music. People who love Soca music catch that feeling and feel the vibe from the moment the beat drops. Either they love it, feel the vibe, or reject the attempt and ignore the mix. That isn't the case with this mix. We feel the love, and we believe you will too!
There is no doubt that you will enjoy every song on this mix, whether it is Soca or Chutney Soca; it all comes home, and that love for our culture will fill your Soca heart. Enjoy some sweet music and an excellent mixtape.

OMG, this video visualizer is pure fire! We featured the Tilden Hall Riddim produced by De Red Boyz and loved the vibe. The brass evoked an old-school vibe, while the infusion of new-school elements captured our attention. Anika Berry's performance, along with her Berry Band, left us utterly captivated at Sokah2Soca. Anika extracted the sensual, carnival-ready energy from every moment of this visual for the song "Saddle."
Every video frame exuded the sensuality and sexiness, accompanied by teasing gyrating waistlines and sultry facial expressions. I apologize for any impending music releases, as they will have to contend with this hit song, simply put, she is a star in the making and will be in demand for Carnival 2025. Talk about sexiness, she has it all! Oh Lord, have mercy and forgive me but I am captivated and a believer in Anika. Once the visuals captivate you, relisten and concentrate on the lyrics that genuinely convey the story; however, the video will undoubtedly elevate this song to the top of the charts!
Only De Red Boyz can produce sweet old school/new school music, but Anika delivered the final blow to every other song on the riddim. Sorry fellas, but I have to bow to this lady and her team. Is there a word that goes beyond sexy? She's it!
So as you prepare for Carnival 2025, get ready for some rough riding on that saddle. Anika, you succeeded; you had me from the start. Lord, have mercy!

After the launch of Panorama 2025, we are returning to our daily routine of showcasing new music for Carnival 2025. Today, we present "Sauna," a recently released song by Olatunji and Smiddy Smith. Smiddy Smith of Star Blu entertainment produced this song, and if you're a fan of Groove Soca, you'll love this offering for Carnival 2025. Smiddy Smith infused the song with a golden touch and a refreshing vibe, adding the essential elements that make this song enjoyable to listen to.
Written by Olatunji and backed by the genius guitar work of Kwami Morrison, "Sauna" brings the warmth that will generate Soca love and a heat that will only be realized when you get into the groove of the music. Iland, also known as "The Audio Lab," expertly mixed and mastered the track, ensuring it was polished and prepared for Soca fans worldwide.
Sokah2Soca notes that the inclusion of the national instrument in the song is of special interest. This surely adds to the authentic value of the song. This marks the first song of the season that prominently features the national institution. We are fittingly featuring this song the day after the launch of Panorama 2025, the greatest steelpan festival, at Phase II Pan Groove in Woodbrook, Port of Spain.
We adore Groove Soca, and this particular rendition is truly captivating. It is groove love, but it will surely bring the heat for Carnival 2025. Olatunji and Smiddy Smith's production deserves our appreciation. Please share your comments about the song. Tell us if you love the groove or whether you think we are off course with the praise for this song.
As we continue to present new music releases and you continue to choose your "best song," we invite you to listen to this song, share your thoughts on social media, and comment on this post. Don't forget to share this post and help make Sokah2Soca your first and last stop for Soca music reviews and all the latest new music releases. One final word: tune in to IslandVybe Philly radio; our partner is Soca for the best Caribbean music 24/7/365.
