"The Last" was recently released for Trinidad and Tobago's 2024 carnival celebrations. The song features DJ Private Ryan and College Boy Jesse. This song reminds me of my late brother-in-law, who passed away from COVID-19 complications in 2020. He always said to me, "One life to live, Panda, party hard!"

This post states the obvious, and if you were not paying attention, it (The Last) focuses on appreciating the present moment and making the most of life. It reminds listeners that life is short and unpredictable, so we should cherish every moment and celebrate each other.

The song features an upbeat tempo, a catchy beat, and vibrant instrumentation typical of Soca. Both DJ Private Ryan and College Boy Jesse bring their distinct styles to the song, blending DJ Ryan's energetic production with College Boy Jesse's smooth vocals.

We will conclude this post with the following: live, love, and be happy because we don't know what tomorrow has in store for us!

"Monsters" by Bunji Garlin, released in December 2023 on the Nicely Riddim for Trinidad and Tobago's 2024 Carnival. It is a dynamic and thought-provoking song with multiple interpretations and layers.

The song's message is open to interpretation and here are our thoughts. We invite you to try and decipher this lyrical master's ability to weave lyrical magic using our cultural identity.

The lyrics seem to address societal issues, with "monsters" potentially representing corrupt systems, negative influences, or social injustices that need to be confronted and overcome.

Despite the challenges, the song celebrates human strength and the will to fight back against these "monsters." The song's production complements the lyrical themes. The "Nicely Riddim" provides a driving beat and energetic base, while Bunji Garlin's powerful vocals and the layered instrumentation add depth and complexity.

It's important to remember that the song's meaning can be interpreted differently by different listeners. This adds to its richness and allows for individual reflection and connection with the themes presented.

Overall, "Monsters" is a thought-provoking song that speaks to social issues, resilience, and the power of unity. It's a powerful addition to Bunji Garlin's repertoire and should resonate with audiences for its message and musicality. We recommend this song not because it is from the lyrical master, Bunji Garlin, but because it is full of vibe and thought-provoking lyrical content.

"Midsection" by Freetown Collective is a high-energy Soca song that celebrates the women of Trinidad and Tobago and their central role in society. The lyrics talk about how every man comes from a woman's midsection and how women are the embodiment of God. The song also calls for balance and respect for women.

The music video for "Midsection" was shot in Freetown, Trinidad and Tobago, and features the band performing in front of a colorful backdrop of people dancing and celebrating. The video has been praised for its positive and uplifting message.

We recommend this song for its high-energy feel, joy of life, and celebration of Trinidad and Tobago's culture. We love the vibe and certainly hope that you celebrate with this excellent song for Carnival 2024.

Politicians beware; your Calypsonians are paying attention and will report to the people in a stinging fashion. It appears that the opposition leader did not think about what she was saying and chose to use Zess-style to convey her message. For those who are unaware, Zess is a Trini slang term that means "to show off or to be flashy."

It turns out that Devon Seale took her to task for her 'gaslighting' the topic of crime in Trinidad and Tobago. The opposition leader advised that the people should "light them up," but instead Devon Seale is setting the leader ablaze because of her zealous actions while campaigning.

So what do we like about this song? Our pet peeve was addressed with this song; the music composition is danceable! The lyrical content is on point, and the vocals complement the music with class. We love the song and recommend it.

YouTube Music Release Notes:
This parody in song treats the opposition leader's clumsy and awkward embrace of the language of the " Trinibad/Dancehall artists (called Zesser music in local dialect) to fortify her "Stand Your Ground"  crime initiative during the recent local government elections campaign.
