Love hurts. No, love is a beautiful thing. Hmm, love is confusing, or is it really? If I love someone, how do I go about expressing my feelings without opening my fragile heart to hurtful rejection? Yes, this is difficult, but that's love and building lasting relationships! Today, with the help of Aaron "Voice" St. Louis, we cast caution to the wind and went "Dancing Away" to find love or simply make fools of ourselves. Is it real or a fool's journey? Let's listen to the voice's perspective on this emotional journey, which could either inspire and bring joy, or simply result in a defeatist sigh and the realization that life continues. Having said that, we have to conclude that there is hope for fragile egos and the loneliest souls out there.
Voice penned this song in 2021—a song that many may or may not have paid attention to. It addresses the emotional rollercoaster of being in love, or it may simply be a case of exaggerated infatuation that leads us down a path of emotional uncertainty. How can we cope? Can we understand and survive this emotional ride?
On this song, "Voice" revealed his innermost thoughts. His talent resonates with today's youth, and we hope that his respect for forming and extending love relationships will instill in them a reverence for the treasure of all societies: our women. This song is more than just a roadmap for a treasured relationship; it also showcases the brilliance of this very talented son of my homeland, Trinidad and Tobago.
We thank you, Voice, for this life lesson about how to treat and respect women. We hope that this short post highlights the song but, more importantly, helps us respect and love our women. Enjoy this super sweet Soca music. Never fear love, never again be blindsided by what comes next. Whatever happens, learn from it. If it does not work out, show respect, move on, and give thanks that you were able to have a moment. Love and respect are the keys; they are the only way forward.

Tomorrow, Saturday, June 8, 2024, "De Girls Dem Darling," aka Kees of Kes the Band, will perform at the New York City Central Park Summer Stage. This is a huge event for fans of the band and artist. This is one day, one event that will bring the vibe of carnival to Central Park on a beautiful summer's day. We are fortunate to live in these times, regardless of any vitriol seeping through society today. Get ready to "Tack Back", shed your burdens, and prepare for a period of love and dance, if just for a few hours.
Kes the Band, an internationally renowned band, presents flavorful Caribbean music rooted in the sweet Soca music of Trinidad and Tobago. The anticipation is high, and the event will surely sell out once the gate opens at 5:00 p.m. tomorrow.
Kes the Band delivers a blend of Caribbean sounds, including Soca, Dancehall, Zouk, and other Caribbean music blends. The music and culture of Trinidad and Tobago span decades. Each period had a unique sound based on world conditions (e.g., World War II, British rule, etc.) and then some. The creative process emerged under colonial rule and shares a mixture of colonial rule and the creative genius of the people of the land. Today we present a gem of a recording found on SoundCloud by "A Man Called Warick." The music captures the essence of that early period and life in the Caribbean.
Of course, you love Calypso and Steelband music, but this recording sheds light on the various influences and styles that the music encompassed. The recording encapsulates the essence of the people who lived during the period from 1050 to 1960. Take a little time out of your busy schedule to listen to the music and think about the people and time that was. This is the period in which your grandparents and great-grandparents lived. After listening to the music, you will have a greater appreciation for the music of the past and a better understanding of our current musical escapades. Enjoy!
