It is November 17, 2025, and we are here to herald the launch of the National Panorama for Carnival 2025. Yes, it's that time of year again, marking the beginning of numerous events that contribute to what Trinidadians proudly refer to as "the greatest show on earth." Daily releases of Soca music take place and today marked the launch of the National Panorama Competition, a notable event for Carnival 2025, at Phase II Pan Groove Panyard, located at 15 Hamilton Street in Woodbrook, Trinidad. Both Pan Trinbago and the Ministry of Tourism, Culture, and the Arts have themed the 2025 competition, "Steelpan Fuh So, Unleash D' Power!"

Fans from all over the world were able to join in the celebration by streaming the launch event live on Facebook and YouTube via the WACK Radio 90.1/Streaming platform. Held at the Phase II Pan Groove Panyard in Woodbrook, the event featured electrifying performances by the reigning champions, Massy Trinidad All Stars and bp Renegades, as well as other top Steelband's like Phase II Pan Groove, San Juan East Side Symphony, Chord Masters, T&TEC New East Side Dimension, and Katzenjammers (newsday.co.tt).

As we gear up for the main event in 2025, the energy and passion displayed at the launch are a testament to the power and beauty of the steelpan. With the recognition of the steelpan as the national instrument of Trinidad and Tobago and the recent acquisition of a Geographical Indicator (GI) for its manufacture, we can confidently declare that the pan is experiencing a surge in popularity. So, savor the launch and get in your lane, ready to proclaim that your band is the best band and let the best Steelband orchestra prevail for the year 2025.

Note for future Steelband Streaming Services:
Time after time, listeners to streaming carnival events have to deal with inferior audio quality. Now, while the WACK Radio 90.1 FM/Streaming service does a better job than many of the streaming platforms, capturing the beauty of the steelpan sound is a struggle for most. We believe anyone in this business can and should do more to capture the true steelpan sound, despite venue-specific technical limitations. Those who are in this business and claim to know best still need to improve audio setup and recording techniques to faithfully capture and convey the captivating essence of live steelpan performances.

Get Outta Here! Bunji Garlin has recently released a highly anticipated song, "Fete I Like," which we at Sokah2Soca love and believe will become one of the go-to party tracks for Carnival 2025. Clyde Headley of Artica Musical Productions, along with the incredible Bunji Garlin, produced and performed this track, positioning it to dominate the Soca scene.

We highly recommend that you tune in here or jump on board at Islandvybe Philly Radio to catch "this mash-up-de-place track"! "Fete I Like" immediately sets us up to fete all night. This is the kind of fete music we crave, where women are wining, having fun, and waving rags and flags in the air. It's a celebration of pure Soca niceness, guaranteed to make us lose control and dance with abandon like there is no-tomorrow—work will take care of itself.

So, turn up the volume and let Bunji Garlin's "Fete I Like" transport you to the heart of Trinidad's Carnival. Every radio station and party playlist will have this track on repeat.

Damn, this is what Soca music is all about! Get ready to fete and feel the energy—Yes this is "the type of fete I like with everybody swinging over-dey... aright, aright, aright!"

After you have worked up a sweat, please share your thoughts on this track in the comments section below and continue the celebration!!

Trinidad and Tobago, known as the Groove Soca Capital of the Soca World, also offers Power Soca. Today, we are thrilled to announce the release of a hit song for Power Soca fans. Lyrikal has just dropped an electrifying new track titled "Mash Pit," and it's sure to send you into a frenzy. Produced by Stratosphere Musiz with executive production by International Stephen, this song is a high-octane celebration of everything we love about Power Soca.

"Mash Pit" is all about the energy and excitement that come with Carnival, capturing the raw, unfiltered spirit of the festival. The title playfully nods to the term "Mosh Pit"—an area in front of the stage where fans dance and go wild. However, in true West Indian style, we have added our own unique twist to it. Just like how we create our unique words and terms to suit our vibes, "Mash Pit" perfectly encapsulates the chaotic joy and boundless energy of a Soca fete.

Every element of this production, from the pounding beats to Lyrikal's commanding vocals, aims to get you moving. It's a track that demands you turn up the volume, lose yourself in the rhythm, and join the revelry. This song is not just a listening experience; it's an invitation to let loose and embrace the euphoria of Carnival.

Power Soca is back, and "Mash Pit" is leading the charge. Be prepared to mash up the place, wave, and jump with Lyrikal's most recent hit. Turn it up loud and let the celebration begin!

Press play, and after you break out in a sweat dancing to "Mash Pit," jump back on social media and share your thoughts about the song with your peers. We would love to hear from you. Please use the comment feature on this post to let us know if this is a hit or a miss. We think it is a keeper.

Kaiso, Kaiso, and, oh yes, today is the time to reminisce with some really sweet Calypso music. Yes, people, we are shining a spotlight on Trinidad's rich and vibrant Calypso music. Join us in celebrating as we feature the incredible talents of Yung Bredda, DJ Hotty, and Jamie—three young guns bringing Calypso to life with their unique vibes and energetic performances.

Who said that Calypso is only for the older generation? These young individuals are poised to refute that misguided belief. The youth have a deep love for Calypso and are eager to contribute their energy to the genre that served as the foundation for the evolution of Soca music. The performance opened with one new vibe titled "Kettle Pot" by Yung Bredda on the newly released "Tilden Hall Riddim," produced by De Red Boyz, after which it is only ole-school Calypso music. So, get ready for "Calypso Wild Card Vol. 1," a musical journey that promises to get you in the groove before the bacchanal kicks off. This is a party where only the sweetest Calypso tunes reign supreme—no Soca, just pure Calypso magic.

Damn, favorite after favorite, vibe for so with the bards of yesteryear shining brightly. Tune in and vibe with fans from around the world as we experience the infectious rhythms and soulful melodies of Trinidad's Calypso music. Let the music move you, and let's celebrate this incredible art form together!
