Rikki Jai and Yung Bredda serve up a pot bubbling with vibes in their new Chutney Soca release, “Aloo.” It’s been a minute since we featured a Chutney track, but this one was too tasty to ignore—a cheeky ode to local cuisine with a saucy twist bold enough to make tamarind sauce blush and chadon beni hide its face. There is more to the sauce in this video and one could say it is teasingly saucy.
The duo blends humor, heat, and pure Trini mischief, supported by a rhythm section that feels like a backyard lime turned up to festival level. The music video only adds to the fun, matching the song’s playful energy beat for beat.
“Aloo” was written by Bjorn Graham, Samraj Jaimungal, and Akhenaton Lewis, with production magic from The KVG x Trini‑Baby, plus background vocals from Trini‑Baby and Bjorn Graham. Engineering comes courtesy of Kasey Phillips of Precision Productions, and the track was recorded by Stephon Gabriel.
We loved the very funny and visually invigorating end to the music video. This is a wickedly flavorful addition to the 2026 Chutney Soca season—and a welcome return to the genre on Sokah2Soca.
