It is just the beginning. As the month of July fades into the calendar sunset and August is on the horizon, our singers, songwriters, and production teams flourish. Should we spell it out? Okay, here we go, it is time for 'New Soca' music for next year's carnival celebrations. The 'thing-starts'! Today, we begin with a song titled "Wukkin" by Peternsky. They were bold enough to label this one 'Soca 2024' so we acquiesced and labeled it as such for our first 2024 Soca music post!
Compliments to the production team and Pternsky on this production. Now we won't name the song, but this song has the feel of a song by a very popular artist who we will not name. It's the way he says "Hey Gyal" that rings that bell!
Now tell us what you think about this newly released Pternsky song. It is our first Carnival 2024 music release. We like the vibe. The lyrics are easy to understand, and the vibe is groovy. We would love to hear from you. In the meantime, tell your friends that Soca Music for 2024 is here!

"Rum & Raisin" is the latest single by Nailah Blackman, released on June 17, 2023. The song is a smooth, sultry Soca track with a catchy melody and Blackman's dreamy vocals. The lyrics are a blur at this moment, but the song's overall vibe is sexy and smooth. The song, produced by Anson Productions, is available on YouTube and other well-known music platforms.
I loved the song's introduction, but from that point on, I was lost for words—literally, that is! That is the reason I mentioned the lyrics are a 'blur' at this time. I don't believe I have a "speech sound disorder." No, I don't because I can comprehend just about any song I hear. However, I can't understand what Nailah Blackman is singing about in this track, "Rum & Raisin". Listen to the song, don't look at the lyrics on the music video, and tell us if you understand her vocals. I guess that is the reason they put out a 'lyric/visualizer music video'... truth be told!
Let's expand that conversation a bit:
"I guess that is the reason they made a lyrics/visualizer music video". This is because it allows listeners to fully engage with the song and understand its meaning. Sometimes, lyrics can be difficult to decipher or not be as clear when listened to alone. By adding visuals or displaying the lyrics on screen, viewers can follow along and connect with the song on a deeper level. It also provides an innovative way for artists to showcase their creativity and add another layer of artistry to their work. Visualizers can range from simple lyrics displays to complex animations that enhance the song's overall aesthetic. So, if you're ever wondering why an artist released a lyrics/visualizer music video, remember that it brings another dimension to the listening experience. This allows fans to better understand and appreciate the music.
We wish Nailah well and are confident she will succeed with this music release. However, one would hope that her diction and overall ability to connect with the listener improve. Nailah's fans may not agree with this post but we call it as we see and hear fit!

Mama, lock up your daughters because when they hear this song, nothing will hold them back from "gettin' on naughty" for Carnival in 2023. This song is crazy! "Do What You Want" is loaded with energy, and if you feel you are young at heart, you better be young enough to keep up with the pace of this song. The song is about a man determined to do whatever he wants, without commitment. He sings about how he is now a "wild man" who is "sweeping everything, beating everything, jamming everything, banging everything, and slamming everything." "If you feel like mash-up, you can show me the baddest-thing you can do". This will be total mayhem at fetes! This will be total mayhem while partying at Vincy-Mas 2023.
