St. Lucia Carnival 2023 has been taken by storm with the explosive release of "We Jumping" by MNR x Kisha Kay. This song sets the stage on fire with the duo's electrifying collaboration delivering a pulsating and infectious Soca rhythm that encapsulates the spirit of the Carnival, inviting listeners to join in on the celebration. "We Jumping" immediately hooks you with its catchy melodies and vibrant beats. The song opens with an energetic introduction that sets the tone for the wild ride to come.

"We Jumping" has solid production quality, with crisp and clear instrumentation that showcases the artists' talent and versatility. The fusion of traditional Soca elements with contemporary elements gives the track a modern edge while still paying homage to Caribbean music roots. The lyrics are simple yet effective, encouraging listeners to let loose, jump, and revel in the exhilarating spirit of Carnival.

We like how this song captures the vibrant atmosphere of St. Lucia Carnival. It feels tailor-made for the event, with its infectious hooks and party-ready vibes. The song possesses universal appeal, transcending cultural boundaries and inspiring people from all walks of life to come together and embrace the joyous essence of the Carnival season... yes, we will all jump-up for Carnival 2023 in St. Lucia.

Now it is not all wine and roses for this song. We like the energy of the song, but the lyrical content could be expanded and seems repetitive at the moment. While the energetic nature of the song compensates for this to some extent, perhaps more variation in the arrangement could have enhanced the overall listening experience.

This song/production encapsulates the pulsating energy and vibrant spirit of carnival. It invites both locals and visitors to dance, jump, and revel in this fast-paced and infectious Soca rhythm. While the song could benefit from more diverse elements, its undeniable catchy nature and powerful vocal performances make it a must-have track for Carnival season. Prepare to hit the dance floor and immerse yourself in the unparalleled excitement of "We Jumping"!

Here we go again Soca music lovers, we have the latest Soca music Top 10 chart for Trinidad and Tobago. The list is from COTT (Copyright Association of Trinidad & Tobago). The top three songs have changed places from last week's chart while Jub Jub by Kes dropped off the chart making room for DAP by Viking Ding Dong. Once again, the movement of songs feels a little wacky making one question the selection of the music played by the radio stations.

Here is a little housekeeping regarding COTT and the current playlist. COTT is a non-profit organization that represents composers, authors, and publishers of musical works in Trinidad and Tobago. The organization collects and distributes royalties to its members for the public performance and broadcast of their works, including on radio stations.

The COTT Radio Play chart is based on data provided by a sample of Trinidad and Tobago radio stations that report their weekly airplay to COTT. The chart reflects the total number of plays each song received during the week. A weighted average of the data is then used to adjust for the differences in the number of radio stations and audiences among them.

COTT:
"Our chart is informed by data obtained from VERICAST - the software used by COTT to capture this and other types of musical data".
