'Temperature' is a catchy and upbeat song released by WiLDXFiRE that'll get you moving right away. This song depicts the passion that can be felt when two people get in sync and are able to express themselves freely. With its clever lyrics and infectious melody, this song is perfect for any party or dance floor, no matter what the occasion.

Today we are taking you back to 2022 to present two excellent songs that you may have missed, ignored or just forgotten because of the Pandemic. We think you will be pleasantly surprised.

Trinidad Carnival 2022 was cancelled due to the continued fear of the covid-19 virus spreading. Trinidad & Tobago's Prime Minister announced the cancellation on January 20, 2022. He said that the decision was made after careful consideration of the public health situation in Trinidad and Tobago. Although Carnival was canceled, Trinidadians and Tobagonians still found ways to celebrate. There were small, private events held throughout the country, and many people took to the streets to dance and celebrate. with some excellent music not regionally or internationally recognized. Today, we look back... so holla back to the artists, shower praises where warranted.

Although they celebrated, many good songs were lost in the absence of a carnival season. Following a quick listen to a few songs from 2022, I decided the Miss Carnival Riddim (two songs) deserves a second look. Now that people are really paying attention to Soca music again, and with carnivals in full swing excellent music will rock any festival, anytime!

So here we are and just in case you haven't heard about the "Carnival Riddim" or the songs associated with the riddim here is you opportunity to 'catch up'. Check out these two songs and let us know what you think.

Today we present the Top Ten Soca chart for the period May 18th - May 24, 2023. We previously listed the chart as "Top Ten Radio Plays" but decided to be specific with our post to reflect "Soca Plays". Those who previously ignored the posts now have their "Soca Chart" to keep track of their favorite artists and songs.

For those new to this chart, here is a little reminder from previous chart posts:
Here is a little housekeeping regarding COTT and the current playlist. COTT is a non-profit organization that represents composers, authors, and publishers of musical works in Trinidad and Tobago. The organization collects and distributes royalties to its members for the public performance and broadcast of their works, including on radio stations.

The COTT Radio Play chart is based on data provided by a sample of Trinidad and Tobago radio stations that report their weekly airplay to COTT. The chart reflects the total number of plays each song received during the week. A weighted average of the data is then used to adjust for the differences in the number of radio stations and audiences among them.

COTT:
"Our chart is informed by data obtained from VERICAST - the software used by COTT to capture this and other types of musical data".
