The Desperadoes Steel Orchestra, one of the most celebrated and successful steel bands in Trinidad and Tobago, wowed the judges and the audience with their rendition of Mical Teja’s “DNA” for the preliminary round of judging for Panorama 2024.
The band, led by arranger Carlton “Zanda” Alexander, showcased their musical prowess and versatility by playing the upbeat and catchy soca tune with precision, energy, and flair. The arrangement featured intricate harmonies, dynamic contrasts, creative variations, and a thrilling climax that had the crowd on their feet.
There is no doubt that the fans were pleased with the band's performance last night. However, it will be up to the judging panel to determine if they are good enough to move on to the next round of competition. We wish them well.

If you are a fan of Soca music, you don't want to miss the chance to see Nadia Batson live in concert! Nadia Batson is one of the most popular and talented singers in the Caribbean, with hits like "So Long," "Fatt," Catching Feelings, and "Strangers. She is also a songwriter, producer, and band leader who has worked with some of the biggest names in the industry.
On Saturday, January 20, 2024, Nadie performed at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Trinidad as part of the Xperience the Quantum event. This is a unique and immersive show that will feature stunning visuals, sound, and lighting effects, as well as special guests and surprises. Those in attendance felt Nadie's energy and vibe, which only the Trinidad and Tobago Carnival experience can generate.
Nadie, during her time on stage, took the appreciative crowd on a musical journey that had the crowd dancing and singing to the sweet sounds of Soca music. She knows how to work the crowd and took them on a musical journey as only Nadia Batson could. We love it all.

“Fete with the Saints” is an annual all-inclusive carnival event in Trinidad and Tobago, hosted by the St. Mary’s College Alumni Foundation. It is one of the most popular and anticipated fetes in the carnival season, featuring live performances by soca artists, a variety of food and drinks, and a festive atmosphere.
The theme for the 2024 edition was "Rediscover," and it took place on Saturday, January 20th, 2024, at the St. Mary’s College Grounds in Port of Spain. The grounds were packed with patrons who "came to party" with their Soca stars, which included Kerwin Du Bois, Shal Marshall, Mical Teja, Patrice Roberts, and Voice. The music was awesome, provided by the "A Team Band." The fans were not disappointed tonight. Now, on to the next fete; no time to sleep!
